Don’t know what it is? It’s simple, eBuddy ID refers to the username for your eBuddy account. Along with a password, you can use your eBuddy ID to sign in to the eBuddy instant messaging and chat network. That is it in a nutshell. So, now that you know what it is, maybe you would like to know more about eBuddy itself.
As mentioned previously, eBuddy is an instant messaging and chat network. But, really it is more than that. Firstly, eBuddy has a user count ranging in the millions – some say roughly 30 million or so. And, that is just the membership it has in its native chat network. The number of people on eBuddy actually balloons to major proportions once you put into account the number of users Yahoo Messenger, AIM, MSN Messenger, ICQ, Google Talk, MySpace, and Facebook has. Why? Because eBuddy can also connect you to those messaging networks. In fact, that is what it does best.
eBuddy is available and accessible anywhere for as long as you are connected to the net. You can access eBuddy through the web, on any iOS device, on any Android device, on a Blackberry smartphone, on any Nokia phone using Symbian operating system, and on any Java ME based mobile phone. So, if you have an eBuddy ID and access to the net through your PC or mobile device included in the previous listing, then you can definitely log on easily.
Now, for mobile devices, eBuddy is usually in the form of an app (short for application). The app will actually let you use any of its services and features, even its ability to connect to any network in its list of integrated networks. Unfortunately, in order to do that, you will be required to sign up for an eBuddy ID. Not a big deal, though. Simply launch the app on your phone and hit the Menu button. Select Create eBuddy ID and follow the instructions after. It will basically involve completing a number of required fields which involves inputting your information. Once completed, log into the app and start connecting to the network/s of your choice.
eBuddy’s interface isn’t very hard to figure out. Basically, once you log in to eBuddy and the other networks in the list, you will be greeted by the buddies list. This is where all your contacts are, regardless of the network they are from. Each contact should have an icon identifying the network they are from. Now, you can customize how the contact list will appear in any way you want. However, for now, just click on any contact that is currently online. This will open a chat window for that person. Type a message and send it.
Now, to chat with another contact, simply tap on the buddies list again and pick another contact to chat with. This will open up another window. You can move from one chat window to the other by simply swiping left to right, or vice versa as the interface will actually enable tabbed chat windows for easy access and management.
There are a lot more features to discover with eBuddy like photo-sharing, video chatting, and group chatting. But since you already know the basics, you should easily be able to figure out how those work.
